Friday & Saturday, October 28th & 29th are Carving Days and Sunday is JUDGEMENT DAY!! Saturday will begin the celebration festivities with music, food, bounce houses, face painting, and will continue into Sunday for the lining up of the pumpkins and the judging. We didn’t forget that our favorite football teams are playing….come watch the game on a large screen in the Community Center.
The current record 2,015 pumpkins is held by Eniwa Happy Halloween Executive Committee in Eniwa, Hokkaido, Japan set on October 31, 2015. The goal for Richland Center is 3,000 and bring the record back to the USA! Each pumpkin needs to include carved eyes, nose, mouth, and eyebrows. They also need to be lined up in a line or a chain and must be touching each other.
Richland Center will be executing this record along the Rotary Lights in the Park trail located behind the Richland Center Community Center and dike. The “Official Guinness World Record Judge” to record our event will be escorted by our Mayor Paul Corcoran landing in a helicopter into Krouskop Park. He will declare Richland Center as the new record holders, and present the community with the official signed Guinness World Record certificate.
