Richland Center High School Rodeo
The top four place winners in each event advance to the National High School Rodeo competition next month in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Events for the girls are barrel racing, cutting, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, team roping and the queen contest. Even for boys are bareback bronco riding, calf roping, team roping, cutting, steer wrestling, saddle bronco riding and bull riding.
The rodeo is preceded by the Annual Richland County Wagon Train which begins Tuesday in Hub City. The train enters the Richland County Fairgrounds Friday and will be part of the June Dairy Day/Rodeo parade, 10:30 a.m., downtown Richland Center. There also is a “cowboy church service” at 8 a.m. Sunday.
The Friday night performance is designated as “Wear Pink for GRACE.” A dollar for every paid ticket for that night goes to Walk for GRACE (Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination). All the proceeds stay local in the fight against cancer. Check their website for more information on how you can help: http://walkwithgrace.com/.
